Kiwi6 shut down on December 31, 2022. All user data was permanently deleted and can no longer be recovered.The business didn't work out and I think I know why; that's for a future update. Today I want to detail why Kiwi6 can't continue to exist as "just" a side project. To give you a rough sense of scale, here are a few numbers:

Peak storage (without replication): 46 TB
Peak download capacity: ~3gbps (7 content servers)
Total plays/streams served: 1,257,572,226
Total downloads served: 122,212,054
Total copyright takedowns: 14,428
Completed artist & podcast profiles: 8,443
Total paying customers: 775
Running a non-trivial scale service like Kiwi6 as a "hobby" is actually very expensive and time consuming, and numerous reasons contributed to this decision to shut down.
