Description

Network Redux runs highly configured versions of Red Hat Enterprise Linux or CentOS, optimized to meet your performance needs and take advantage of their world-class data center.

Network Redux owns and operates their network of Dell PowerEdge 2850 servers with Dual Xeon 3.0Ghz/2MB processors and at least 2GB memory. Each server is equipped with 4x146GB SCSI RAID 5 drives and redundant dual hot-swappable power supplies. All servers maintain network attached storage connections for increased scalability.

Based in Portland, Oregon Network Redux is a Web Hosting and data service provider. We develop, deploy and manage Web Hosting environments for Internet projects both large and small. From first time bloggers to global ecommerce businesses, we provide hosting services such as Virtual Servers and complex Enterprise Platforms for clients worldwide.

Linux-based and developer-minded, our scalable hosting services are premised on fundamentals of transparency, Open Source and Tier-1 infrastructure - infrastructure that we privately own and manage. Our focus and primary commitment extends to the Open Source community, including those involved in designing and maintaining the architecture empowering our operations.

We operate 3 Datacenters and a global Content Delivery Network

We have a global client base spanning nearly 40 countries and we are one of the few U.S. based groups headquartered in Portland, Oregon. Although our flagship facilities are located on the West Coast, our datacenter footprint expands across North America and Europe.

Privately owned and managed infrastructure

A core strength is the ownership and management of our infrastructure. Premised on High Availability and distributed risk models, we have replicated our policies, procedures and practices across all layers of our infrastructure.
Physical security

Carefully planned physical security policies are an integral part of our daily operations. Some of our practices currently in place:

* 24/7/365 Manned Facilities
* 24/7/365 Security Services
* Proximity Cards for building entrance
* Biometric Hand Scanners for floor access
* Security Cameras monitoring (inside and outside premise monitoring)

Fire security

Our datacenters are equipped with two-tiered fire suppression systems. Waterless fire suppression (FM 200) can be triggered manually or by automatic sensors. This state of the art Fike/Cheetah FM 200 system is redundant and interlocked with HVAC, backed by dry pipe pre-action sprinklers.
Network security

Upstream Network Connectivity beyond our core routers is protected by Managed Security Services at the carrier level. Recorded network anomalies trigger escalation procedures to ensure mitigation begins before the attack.

Within our Core, Distribution and Access level switching fabric we utilize technologies such as Access Control Lists (ACL), Virtual Local Area Networks (VLAN) and packet filtering/analysis/inspection. Customers are securely segmented from each other with a unique private VLAN.

Below the Access Layer, an additional layer of security services is provided with managed security appliances. All layers of network protection include but are not limited to: DDoS, Anti-Virus, Cross Site Scripting (XSS), SQL Injection, IPS and IDS.

Secure Virtual Private Networks (VPN) isolate individual customer traffic to encrypt all inbound and outbound management traffic.
Backup mechanisms

Our backup and archiving infrastructure utilizes Continuous Data Protection (CDP) software provided by BBS Technologies, Inc. CDP is a server software application that enables disk-based data protection and disaster recovery for servers running on Linux or Windows based operating systems. CDP Server protects disk volume data using synchronization over LAN and WAN networks storing point-in-time snapshots in disk-based storage. Both of our Datacenters are enabled with CDP backup/archiving platforms.

All servers are backed up every 24 hours to onsite and offsite locations. These backups occur between 10:00pm and 6:00am Pacific Standard Time and occur at the block level; putting minimal strain or load on the production and development servers. Onsite data backups are retained for a period of 30 days. Offsite data backups are retained for a period of 90 days. On the 31st or 91st day of the cycle, the oldest incremental snapshot will be purged from the storage arrays. Our Continuous Data Protection platforms allow multiple forms of data restoration:

* File based restoration
* Block level bare metal restore
* MySQL granular table level restoration
* Data restoration to a remote server or location over a LAN or WAN

Data restoration services are provided at no additional charge, and must be requested by an authorized person assigned to the Network Redux account. Restoration procedures can occur 24/7/365 and are given priority, queuing over standard backup procedures in our CDP platforms.
A look ahead - technologies for a healthy ecosystem

Sustainable technologies are paramount to our business model and advances in infrastructure. We are consistently expanding our virtualization footprint, with 90% of our architecture operating in a virtualized state. As a benefit of operating in Portland: a large portion of the energy we use is provided through environment-friendly solutions (such as wind power). We are currently in the design and implementation phases of a “sustainable cooling strategy” for our facilities using passive ventilation, cool outside air, securely deducted into our premises to cool our facilities. This allows for a reduction of cooling load and power consumption. This is a work in progress.
