😠 I agree with the web designer who posted a review here on Nov 30, 2019
I am also a web designer and a client came to me to update his old website that UniServe hosts.
I installed and built the client a WordPress website. As part of ensuring stability with the CMS website I had to change the PHP version for the hosting account. This is where everything UniServe went for a dump.
I could not change the PHP version, because their server settings for their Apache / PHP was all screwed up. From here things got worst.
The issue is still not fixed and at the time of this review, it has already been 2 weeks. From the support responses, they are taking their sweet time, and seems to be avoiding the issue, dragging this matter even further.
Then, at their last response, they said they are doing upgrades in January. What was really annoying was the time I spent hassling with poor support for 2 weeks before being told of a pending upgrade.
I will surely return here if their upgrade

😠 Uniserve does not support APPLE products
Uniserve refuses to provide working outgoing email SMTP or POP server settings.
UNISERVE does support incoming emails, which suggests it isn't Mac Mail that is the problem.
They reply, 'We don't trouble shoot 3rd party programs' as if Apple doesn't support mail programs around the world. But it is easier to make their stupidity someone else's problem.

😠 My business e-mails are bouncing back constantly.
I'm trying to move, but their website and c-panel are down.
No e-mail, No website, No way to get out.
8 years ago, they were great.
Last couple years have been awful.

😠 As a web designer, my client came to me with this company already in place. Let me tell you, this company is the worst company I have ever experienced. The service is the worst, not bad.. the worst! The system is down regularly, (now in fact), the system status page is wrong saying it's up when it's actually down (lies). They don't call people back, and I can't access my clients site backend. Atrocious!!!

😠 absolutely horrible customer service
I've been a uniserve customer for a number of years, when I added a new domain to my account, all hell broke loose. It's been over 10 days now without any email, I've called them everyday, tried to get through to a manager,... nothing,... they just keep telling me that there is "an open ticket". That's great, but NOTHING ever happens. It's extremely insulting, I'm moving my sites elsewhere

😠 Appallingly poor web hosting service.
Completely outdated C-Panel system.
No Wordpress support. Can't even upgrade Wordpress from within WordPress admin. Can only upgrade Wordpress thorugh C-Panel. Because Wordpress updates from within Wordpress were not being processed there were three massive security breaches in 3 months causing site to be pulled down each time.
Technical support typically takes about 45 mins to an hour to pick up.
Request made by phone *and* email completely ignored.
Every new support person has to be brought back up to speed.
They charged $170 to reboot a backup of the site.
Moving everything to another hosting/domain solution.

😠 Signed up with them. Took a couple days to receive modem in mail. Got everything connected but no internet access. 2verytime I called, I was told - would be contacted in 24 hours. Never received a call back. That was up to me. Problem escalated to different dept for resolution. Got home on Friday and it was working. Next day, no service. Won't be resolved now until at least Monday.
Friendly people but not very helpful.

😞 unorganized and now undeservingly raise cost $3
I started with Uniserve in 2003 by default when they bought digital ark (oberon) up in Campbell River. Part of a massive Island buy-out. It's been a roller coaster ride ever since. The services were okay but pricing, email and web page hosting was a night mare from the beginning. I moved down to the city and they gave me new account details but couldn't lose the old account. My email and web pages stayed up in Campbell River. I'd discover that I was paying a few bucks more than everyone else for like three years so they'd give me a promotional deal to make up for it. Conflicts between the old account on the island and the new one on the Coast were constant. Even during the promotional deal they gave me in return for overcharging me by as much as $4.95/month for two years was unrecognized by hanf the company so I would get over charged time after time. I would have to explain to someone what was going on and it would be an issue every time. They'd say they had to slear the problem with

😉 Slow processing of order and deceit
We changed our phone line carrier and as a consequence lost use of our uniserve account which was carried on that line.
We contacted Uniserve and was told that it would take 24/48 hours to check the line.
Next we were tolde that it would take 5 to 10 business days to soleve the problem....not told why despite asking.
Next told that it was taking this long because Teus had to do some work at their end..it wa not a Uniserve issue.
Asked for a case file so that I could persue with Telus...not given one.
Next told that it was not Telus but uniserve that had to do work and that it had been put on a rush order, but it would still take 5 to 10 business days.
Every time I spoke to these guys I got a different story other that the fact that it would take 5 to 10 business days...
Said they would phone me back twice and never did.
Absolutely brutal service./..don't treat your customer like an idiot and don't keep on changing the story...tell them up front.

😠 This is the worst for customer service. They are not even able to connect email, so I wouldn't trust them to do anything else. Their staff is nice but clueless. They could care less about customer satisfaction, but are quick to bill and try to get money.
I HATE THEM.

😠 Recenctly had new web site designed, and when it was time to upload was unable becasue current server does not support PHP, emailed support a couple of time, and recieved confirm that message was recieved, however noone ever bothered to call me tried again over week with same results following week contacted them directly and support person had suggested that customer service would ignore message and only looking at billing issue, and provided another email addres for support issues, of course sent my message to uniserve and a week has gone by and still waiting
Will obviously look for another provider, I have been with unserve/interlog for at least 10 years

😞 Since I first signed up with Uniserve their service has been nothing but trouble.
* Speedtouch Modem breaks every few months (When we sent back the modem they said they never recieved it and started charging us for rental on a modem we already purchased)
* No telephone service for 2 weeks at a time (twice over Christmas holidays) when it goes down (VoIP that is bundled with the internet package)
* They say they will call you but you never recieve a call (all ways had to call in myself)
* One time they said the would "escalate" the problem but when I called back appearantly it was never escalated (boosted us from the 1.5mbps to 3.0mbps, which we were already suppose to have, as a fix for the troubles
I would not recommend this company to anyone. You are better of going to Telus. But if you can deal with all the problems it is an excellent pricing on the bundle package. Funny thing is I work in computer retail and uniserve is a product we sell which I will not hesitate to let [read more...]
