😁 Ayant perdu la connexion de l'internet sur notre téléviseur principal, j'ai appelé ColbaNet pour obtenir de l'aide. Ils ont tenté assidument de résoudre notre probleme. Le technicien était tres professionnel, sympathique et patient. Était tres au courant de notre probleme et nous a fait essayer plusieurs choses pour le corriger.

ColbaNet Telecom offers innovative integrated telecommunication services (voice and data), thus offering our customers a lot more at a lesser cost. A French model inspired ColbaNet: to offer 3 residential services (Internet, telephone and TV signal) at $50 per month. This is half the price of what the competition is offering.

History

In 1996, Mr. Joseph Bassili founded ColbaNet an Internet Service Provider (ISP). ColbaNet rapidly became one of the most important privately owned ISP in Quebec. ColbaNet offers a complete range of telecommunication services.

In 2000, as more and more customers were looking for faster connections, ColbaNet introduced ADSL connectivity. CGI’s Internet division, acquired by ColbaNet in 2003, opened new markets with important customers throughout Canada. In 2005, ColbaNet bought SpectraVoice , a company offering voice over internet protocol VOIP. ColbaNet was one of the first to implement its own equipment in the telephone centrals of Bell Canada in Montreal.

😁 I just moved in town and had internet hooked up and COLBANET came and worked on it for me, he was great kind very helpful and I had to call back because my remote was acting up and he came out and fixed it for me and again very friendly and very helpful would recommend them anytime.

COLBANET was the best choice I could make. I left the other company because of their horrible customer service and was losing business. Every step along the way everyone was so professional and courteous, from the man who sold me the services to the installers who made sure everything worked perfectly. It's a breath of fresh air to do business with a company with integrity.

COLBANET has been our internet provider for the past 13 months and it has been such a pleasure working with it. The internet connection is as reliable as it gets and if there are ever technical issues they respond immediately. The entire experience from beginning to end has been so convenient and painless. The bomb! Best internet I have ever used. These guys offer good customer service and if there is a problem, they will send one of their technicians right away. I am a serious gamer and my grandma loves to call her friends every day. Excellent all around and I won't be going anywhere else for my internet needs. I definitely suggest calling ColbaNet if you are in the market for great internet service.

😠 Always lagging
With 60mbits for 3 students, one would hope that the internet would run smoothly. Nay, it is ALWAYS lagging. Can't even watch YouTube without dealing with constant lag spikes. I can barely attend my remote university/zoom because the internet is constantly slowing down without reasons. Sure, the price is not so expensive, but it certainly not worth all the trouble of dealing with an ISP that can't deliver the service you are paying for.

😠 Very shitty
Very shitty, cheap service for sure but u only get 4Mbps dowload and 0.5 upload (20Mbps advertised). Always having problem with the connection, I stayed there for 4 years, mostly for being lazy to just call and cancel and go look somewhere else

Customer service is the worst : they will basically be arrogant and very rude, now that they have ur money for the whole year (Yeah they make u pay per year...) they just don't give about customer, why should they ? The sale rep, Mr George Bassal ,is the worst of the company.

😠 Worst Customer Service Ever
I've been client with them for a short while and I have to say I'm not impressed. I pay 20$ for ADSL+ service + 10$ for a phone line.

When I signed up, I was promised a measly 3Mbit/sec connection which I was fine with as long as it didn't drop. Yesterday I was having problem with my connection and decided to test the speed of my connection. It dropped to 0.5Mbit/sec for download. That's when I decided to call the customer service BUT I got a voice mail. Their tech service is closed from 9pm to 8am. No way to know if there was a problem on their end or mine. So I left a message and got a call back the next morning at 8:15am.

I have to admit, they impressed me for about 5 seconds... until the technician calling me started speaking. The first thing she did is now inquire about my problem but started to justify the tech support opening hours. Once that got out of the way, she plainly said the problem was on my end, that they didn't experience any problem on their end. Never has [read more...]

😠 absolutely the worst
I called to inquire about getting internet, they quoted me the price. I inquired specifically about the dryloop charge, they never explained it is monthly. Only after I paid, I got a receipt showing the charge. I tried to get a refund but since they already had my money, they refused. They wanted to charge me for the installation even though it had not even been done. It's the worst experience I have ever had doing business.

😁 Super happy with Colba
Having moved to a new place, I needed an internet connection. I thought about going with Acanac, since I have used them before and have been super happy.

However, when I saw I could get ADSL2+ at 24 Mbps with Colba, I was curious. Reading online had me worried. A lot of people said the service was terrible and the connection was very slow. I was also worried that a one year advance subscription would cost about $600 with no guarantee (with dry loop, installation, modem, taxes, etc).

However, I decided to risk it. And in my case, it was definitely worth it.

First, I live very close to a (col?). Anyway, I live about 100 feet from where the bell trucks are. So I could hit the building with a rock from my balcony.

I am currently connecting at 17Mbps down and 0.86Mbps up. Not theoretical, but with SpeedTest. Very stable connection. I don't have Annex M enabled, but I think I would get better upload if I did.

😠 pure customer support
I stay with this company for one month. For this month:

1). Colba.net twice charged me money they do not suppose to charge by mistake.
2). In "no DSL signal situation" when I expected they will call Bell to check if there is a DSL signal problem or instead of forwarding their technician on my place with their modem for testing my DSL line, they adviced me to borrow DSL modem from my friends or to come to their place and to rent a test modem from them for testing purposes. Next day I found they even did not even open a case. Two days later I found they charged me 69.30 for test modem they provided which supposed be charge free.

😞 Their rules are not clear and they charge up to $70 if you move. The ADSL 2+is only available in Montreal and if you want to move elsewhere, they offer ADSL (not ADSL 2+) for a higher price.

You may pay 1 year in advance but if you want to cancel they take 50% as a fee!

I will not recommend it.
