😠 XO cannot/will not support a small non-profit
We have been with XO for over 5 years now, and until recently we've tolerated their basically poor customer service. We have been asking for over a month for a simple change on the A-Record of our site to remedy the Google "Malware Detected" curse, but have only heard from auto-responder, and telephone call center wait times are 2.5-4 hours(!!!).
We will not pay our bill until this is resolved, which really is a ten minute fix, if that!
We are a small non-profit continuing care retirement community and don't have much time to waste on the phone for such a simple fix.

😠 Hideous control panel, yesterday's technology at tomorrow's prices. Hosted with these goons since they were called Concentric in 1998. Thirteen years later I woke up one day and realized I was paying fifteen times what other companies charge for the same thing. I was just too lazy to switch. Til today. Bye XO.

😠 Xo Communications is the absolute WORST company on the planet for Customers Service. The incompentence of tech support, the who-cares attitude of Excutive Management, the inability to get service activated, changed or disconnected has got to be at the top of the SUCKS list of companies!!!!
There is not 1 single reason why I could recomment XO to anyone!!!

😠 First XO is charging us $15/mo with limited bandwidth and limited diskspace. The only reason we can't leave is that the CEO, when faced with a decision to leave, resisted change because he "just likes companies that are local." And XO has offices in San Antonio so that makes him happy. Even though you can't DO anything there.
Well he delayed the website's upgrade (which he's paying for) for two weeks because he didn't trust the CTO's suggested alternative. It's pathetic I know.
Now onto the problems with XO:
I have been working on creating a new website for this company. I needed to use mysql and php 5. I wanted to use mysql 5 but they're still in the dark ages. So I had to convert the parts that used mysql 5 to 4 which wasn't terrible. But still they should keep up with times.
But that's not the worst. Their default php version is 4.x. I wanted to use 5.x. The on-line help (which is not easy to use or very good), tells you that you can use php 5 by using an [read more...]
